About Me

I received my first guitar the summer before entering third grade. Shortly thereafter I began taking classical lessons in the Suzuki Method with professional player and teacher Laura Mazza-Dixon.

I continued lessons throughout my childhood, spending ten years studying under Laura. During this time I played with several high school bands and a more formal group, the Windy Hill Guitar Ensemble.

I attended Bates College in Maine and in 2007 received undergraduate degree in mathematics. While in school I took coursework in music theory, composition, music in video, and computer-music interaction. At this time I also continued my personal classical studies through Bates College with professor Kenneth Labrecque.

After graduation I took a job with Adirondack Leadership Expeditions where I spent the next three years as a wilderness therapy instructors for at-risk adolescents.

In 2011 I completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching, simultaneously earning my NYS teaching certificate in mathematics.

I now live in Saranac Lake, NY where I work with adjudicated youth at Mountain Lake Academy and teach guitar.
